  1. Doug’s location is under the influence of Chiba climate. There seems to be more snow on the roof tops in Ogikubo. And Walt, what does Hajioji have?

  2. Doug, We had about 5 snow falls and they were deep. We could not get the car out of the garage, but spring is coming

Dave ‘n Doug, Yup, lots of snow in Hachioji. My now arctic snow garden is in a survival mode. But no problem, it is named Darwin’s Garden because it is based on survival of the fittest, natural self-sustaining mode. Once created 4 years ago, it is on its own. Only treatment is viewing and an occasional new plant. Tanoshii from my bed and my iMac armchair. Life is good here even with lots of snow. walt

  4. walt, You did an excellent job 4 years ago. When I blew up the photo, I see a lot of forest in the background. Is that all one piece or is the background on the next property? What little I put on the veranda has changed almost completely. It too is a Darwinian environment. Three years ago, Carol Yuyeyama and her husband gave me a newly planted pot full of nourishing edibles recommended for the Seventh Day Adventists. Today, no way I would eat any of it. I don’t know precisely what happens to make the change: ants? worms? Insects? birds, bees? winds, flying spurs? Whatever is effective. No dogs or cats are out there and I haven’t seen any rodents.
